WORKSHOPS

At Fly and Flow Fitness, we not only offer our standard array of classes, but we also have Workshops, Camps, and Private Classes and Parties available. Below are some of the workshops we offer.

AerDance Workshop

  • Adults Level I
    – This 2-hour workshop focuses on learning a complete choreographed routine, which will be recorded for you to watch alone, or share with friends!
    – Level 1: No dance experience needed.
    – Workshop is limited to 4 students.
  • Adults Level II
    – This 2-hour workshop focuses on learning a complete choreographed routine, which will be recorded for you to watch alone, or share with friends!
    – Level 2: students with prior AerDance experience
    – Workshop is limited to 4 students
  • AerDance for Fly Girls
    – Learn one or two pieces of choreography that were featured in SOLIEL WARRIORS at the WICK THEATER (Summer 2019), choreographed by instructor Anita Havel.
    – We will pay special attention to fine-tuning each moment so that a graceful flow through transitions is achieved.
    – Different from aerial tricks, the “getting there” has to appear as effortless as the finished pose. 
    – Students will spend 8 hours learning and polishing the routines and will be showcased on the last day/hour of camp. Parents are welcome to attend.
    – This performance will be recorded for all Fly Girls to share with their loved ones!  

Aerial Teacher Training – 2 Point Hammocks

Defy Gravity Yoga has teamed up with Fly & Flow Fitness to offer an incredible 2-WEEKEND, IN PERSON intensive Aerial Teacher Training. Whether you want to start teaching or simply expand and understand your aerial yoga practice, this workshop is for you!

  • 1st WEEKEND: Saturday & Sunday 1/30/21 – 1/31/21 Noon-7:00PM
  • 2nd WEEKEND: Saturday & Sunday 2/6/21 – 2/7/21, Noon-7:00PM
  • Our Aerial Yoga Teacher Training Curriculum includes:
    1. Advanced study of asana (proper alignment, benefits, and potential risks)
    2. Principles of anatomy
    3. Science and art of sequencing
    4. Hands-on adjustments
    5. How to observe bodies
    6. Informed use of props to improve or modify a posture
    7. Cultivating your voice
    8. Confidence-building through practice teaching
    9. Aerial history and philosophy
    10. Sanskrit names of postures
    11. The Business of Yoga
    *requires students to assist in 20 subsequent, additional aerial yoga classes, plus teach one full hour aerial class under instructors’ supervision to gain certification
  • Pricing: Only $1,099.00 – $200 DISCOUNT [only $889] if booked and paid in full before November 30th
  • Tuition includes unlimited Fly & Flow Fitness aerial yoga classes for the duration of the training.

Photoshoot

We are super excited to offer this AMAZING photo painting workshop to our aerial arts students!

  • Each session will be 10 minutes long (trust me that is PLENTY of time) while our photographer takes these magical photos of you in basic poses either on the aerial hammock, split silks, or Lyra for our aerial lovers.
  • It is strongly recommended to arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled shoot time so we don’t run late.
  • You will receive all of your incredible digital photos within 3 days via email.
  • Get ready to feel the MAGIC in the air as your mind is blown with the artistic beauty of YOU!
  • Time slots are EXTREMELY limited so reserve your spot ASAP!

Adult Tricks Workshop

This special 2-hour adult tricks workshop is specifically designed to give you more experience and time to build strength to perform tricks with grace and confidence.

  • Our Adult Tricks Workshop focuses on learning aerial tricks, targeting stabilizer muscles throughout your entire body while building your upper body and core. Students will also build strength, increase flexibility, and learn to flip, turn, roll, pose, and transition between positions using our aerial silks and Lyra [aerial hoop].
  • This workshop is for the aerialist who already has a solid grasp of the basics on silks, and will provide more familiarity with a variety of climbs, flips & drops, along with various foot-locks, knots, and binds.

AcroYoga Workshops

  • AcroYoga – Adults
    Elevate your yoga practice to a whole new level! This incredible 2-hour AcroYoga adults workshop will have you laughing and strengthening all at the same time!  Grab your camera and bring a friend, a date, or come alone! No partner or prior experience necessary.
  • AcroYoga – Fly Girls
    Remember doing the superman pose with your sibling? Now let your kids elevate their fun to a whole new level! We are so excited to host this incredible 2-hour AcroYoga kids workshop that will have your child laughing and strengthening all at the same time!  Insta worthy posts! Your child can bring a friend, a sibling, or come alone. No partner or prior experience necessary.

Lyra Workshops

Lyra uses a suspended steel hoop rigged to our ceiling.  It is one of the oldest forms of aerial arts. Learning how to use the Lyra builds incredible upper body, core, and leg strength, all while having so much fun! 

  • Lyra – Adults
    – This workshop is designed to build a strong foundation and understanding of the Lyra.
    – Students will learn basic warm-ups, form, technique, and beginner skills, including how to mount the hoop, pose, and transition between poses within it.
    – Learn the basic and fundamental skills necessary to safely begin your aerial hoop journey!
    – This is a beginner level workshop with each section broken down with modifications provided based on each student.
    – No prior aerial experience necessary, open to all skill levels.
    – Space is limited & registration is required to guarantee your spot.
    – Participants must be at least 16 years of age to attend.
  • Lyra – Fly Girls 
    – This workshop is designed just for your Fly Girl to build a strong foundation and understanding of the Lyra [aerial hoop]. 
    – This workshop is designed to build a strong foundation and understanding of the Lyra.
    – Students will learn basic warm-ups, form, technique, and beginner skills, including how to mount the hoop, pose, and transition between poses within it.
    – Learn the basic and fundamental skills necessary to safely begin your aerial hoop journey!
    – This is a beginner level workshop with each section broken down with modifications provided based on each student.
    – No prior aerial experience necessary, open to all skill levels.
    – Space is limited & registration is required to guarantee your spot.
    – Participants must be at least 10 years of age to attend.

Split Silks Workshop

Want to take your aerial practice to another level? Aerial Silks is an art form first developed by André Simard for Cirque du Soliel in 1995. Here at Fly & Flow Fitness, split silk aerialist Nicole developed a curriculum accessible to raw beginners, or will even challenge aerialists, which enables our students to develop strength, flexibility, and body awareness.

  • Split Silks – Adults
    – Strength and understanding is the main practice in this workshop. Students will not only learn but will master the technique and structure through specially designed exercises performed with the fabrics.
    – Class is catered to individual strengths and will give them a firm understanding and solid structure to continue on to higher levels of activity on fabrics safely. 
  • Split Silks – Fly Girls
    – Does your child love to climb, flip & spin?
    – Strength and understanding is the main practice in this workshop.
    – Kids will not only learn but will master the technique and structure through specially designed exercises performed with the fabrics.
    – Class is catered to individual strengths and will give them a firm understanding and solid structure to continue on to higher levels of activity on fabrics safely.
    – Let your Fly Girl take her aerial practice to new heights! Fly Girls will learn various binds, wraps, rolls & drops skills, to create a choreographed dance to perform and record on the last day of camp.
    Prerequisites:
    – Students must have previous aerial experience.
    – Must be able to climb & hold yourself in the air for at least 5 seconds.

Halloween Tricks & Treats

Halloween Tricks & TreatsLet your “witch,” “vampire,” “gargoyle” & other aerial tricks fly with us Halloween night! Spend 2 hours in the swings then join us for some treats.
